Social Media Manager (P/T)
Location: Remote, with occasional check-ins, occasional visit to our farm in Damariscotta, Maine
Hours: Part-time, flexible

Glidden Point Oysters is known for its expertly farmed, perfectly fresh oysters straight from Maine’s pristine waters. We are passionate about bringing oysters to more tables, educating consumers, and making seafood feel accessible, fun, and premium.
The Role:
We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to oversee our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. You’ll work closely with our marketing director to execute campaigns, engage with our audience, and bring fresh ideas to the table. While you’ll receive direction, we want someone experienced enough to drive engagement, tell our story, and contribute to strategic implementation.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and execute compelling social media content that aligns with our brand’s voice and goals
- Plan and schedule posts across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, ensuring consistency and creativity
- Develop storytelling-driven campaigns that connect with consumers and highlight our brand, products, and oyster culture
- Engage with our audience, responding to comments, messages, and trends in real time
- Analyze performance data to optimize future content and improve engagement
- Leverage existing assets (photos, videos) and suggest new content opportunities, including UGC (user-generated content) and influencer collaborations
- Stay on top of seafood, food, and lifestyle trends that can inspire our content strategy
- Coordinate with the marketing director, and occasionally owner, farm store manager and sales team to support product launches, promotions, and key messaging
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience managing brand social media accounts, preferably in food, beverage, or lifestyle industries
- A strong creative eye—ability to make content visually appealing and engaging
- Proven ability to storytelling through social media, with examples of past campaigns or posts that created an emotional connection or strong engagement
- Excellent writing skills that capture brand voice (bonus if you have experience with humorous/helpful tones)
- Experience with Instagram Reels and TikTok trends, including short-form video creation
- Proficiency in social media scheduling tools like Later, Buffer, or native platform schedulers
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and ability to adjust strategy based on performance
- Passion for food, seafood, or sustainable aquaculture is a big plus!
