Shipping and Customer Responsibility Policies

ORDER REVIEW & RESPONSIBILITY

Please carefully confirm that you have selected the correct quantity, size, color, delivery date, and entered the correct billing and shipping addresses. Glidden Point is not responsible for packages lost or misdelivered due to incorrect addresses. Requests for changes after placing an order are not guaranteed. We cannot deliver to PO Boxes. Orders canceled within 24 hours of the shipping date may not be eligible for a full refund. We cannot make changes to orders within 24 hours of our fulfillment.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

You may select your desired delivery date at checkout. However, please allow an extra day or two as severe weather or FedEx mechanical issues can delay shipments. If a delivery date is not selected, your order will ship on the next available shipping day. We ship FedEx Priority Overnight for perishable items and FedEx Ground Economy (2- 7 day) for non-perishable items. We ship only within the continental U.S. (excluding Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico). A signature is not required upon delivery. We strive to ship items together; however, carts containing both perishable and non-perishable items will be shipped separate. Merchandise orders under $75 will incur shipping costs to be paid for by the customer.

SHIPPING SCHEDULE

All perishable orders are shipped on Wednesdays (excluding special holiday ship dates). Orders must be placed by 11:59 PM PST Tuesday to ship the following day. Orders placed afterward or on weekends will ship on the next available Wednesday unless a later date is selected.

PACKAGING & SUSTAINABILITY

We take great care to ensure your oysters arrive fresh:
Insulated boxes with gel packs maintain the proper temperature.
Temperature trackers are included inside each package.
Packaging is designed for multi-day travel in the event of delays.
We prioritize eco-friendly packaging whenever possible.

SHIPPING COSTS

Due to the logistics involved in shipping harvested-to-order oysters from rural Maine, larger orders generally offer better cost efficiency. We continuously work to find the most affordable shipping options while ensuring freshness.

HOLIDAY SHIPPING

Shipping carriers experience high volumes during holidays, causing potential delays. We pack all holiday shipments for extended travel, but recommend placing holiday orders early to secure preferred delivery dates.

GLIDDEN POINT BACKWOODS POLICY

Our farm is located in rural Lincoln County, Maine, where severe weather can affect harvesting and transportation. We always strive to fulfill orders promptly, but conditions such as storms, power outages, road blockages, and FedEx mechanical delays are beyond our control. If delays occur, we will work with you individually to arrange reshipments or refunds as necessary.

PICK UP AT THE FARM

If you'd like to pick up oysters directly from the farm, please call the farm directly. Our retail store is open daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, May 11 to October 10. Hours outside the summer season may vary.
